A Cat Food that Cares

How I Found Annamaet: A Cat Food that Cares

Yoshi has always been, to put it lightly, a slow learner. I adopted him from my local humane society when he was 12 weeks old, frightened and feral, which made the transition from a one to two cat home that much more difficult. He struggled to adjust to my roommates and our two-year-old black shorthair cat for weeks, as he’s proven to do with just about everything since then.

Like any cat-parent, I knew that everything gets easier with time and Yoshi just needed a bit of extra time. When it came to researching adult cat foods, I made sure to be diligent and thorough in order to make this transition as seamless as it could be. In my eyes, the switch from high-fat kitten food to adult cat food was equivalent to going your whole life eating bacon for breakfast until one day you have a bowl of oatmeal in front of you. That would be hard on anyone!

I knew the first thing I wanted to find in an adult cat food was an ingredient list I could trust and know exactly where everything was sourced from. We care so much about what we are putting into our bodies, triple checking ingredients labels, tracking nutrients, and buying organic as much as possible, so of course I want the same for my cat. I was thrilled to see that Annamaet, an award-winning pet food company had extended their very popular Sustain Formula by adding a feline option. Not only could I trust the ingredients that would be in Yoshi’s food, I knew that he was going to love the taste.

Feline Sustain No. 29 Formula is made from fresh, wild-caught Alaskan cod that is always sustainably sourced. It’s grain-free so I don’t have to worry about a bunch of filler ingredients, but instead, it is filled with antioxidants from blueberries, turmeric, and cranberries, and prebiotics and probiotics to help support digestive health.

And, unlike most new things I have introduced to Yoshi, there was no learning curve when it came to Annamaet. Yoshi loved it from day one, and I know that is no coincidence. Annamaet puts the same amount of time and love into creating their formulas as I do with, well, just about everything when it comes to my cat. I am happy to have found a cat food I can be proud of in Annamaet.
